Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how BetCaddie ("we," "our," or "us") handles information in connection with (1) the BetCaddie mobile application for iPhone, available via the Apple App Store (the "App"), and (2) the BetCaddie marketing website at betcaddiegolf.com (the "Site"). If BetCaddie is later released on additional platforms (such as Android via Google Play), this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

The short version: The App itself does not require an account, does not log you in, and does not collect personal information to operate. Scores and match data you enter are stored on your device. If you choose to share a round via Match Code, the player names and scores you entered are transmitted to our cloud provider and stored for up to 30 days so your group can follow along. On the Site, we collect email addresses that visitors voluntarily submit to the launch-notification signup form (processed by Mailchimp). For non-subscribers using the in-app Follow Round feature, Google AdMob serves ads and collects limited device-level information for ad delivery. Details on each of these points follow.

Data We Collect

The App is designed to operate without user accounts or server-side profiles. The following describes what we do and do not collect:

In the App:

• We do not require you to create an account, log in, or provide a name, email address, phone number, or any other contact information to use the App
• We do not collect or access your location
• We do not access your contacts, calendar, camera, microphone, or photo library
• We do not use cookies or device identifiers for our own tracking purposes
• For subscribers, we do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS). For non-subscribers using the Follow Round feature, Google AdMob may access your device's advertising identifier to serve ads — see the Advertising section below for details
• BetCaddie itself does not track you across other apps or websites. However, Google AdMob (which serves ads to non-subscribers during Follow Round) may use device-level data for ad personalization in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy
• If you choose to share a round via Match Code, the player names and scores you entered are transmitted to our cloud provider — see Data Storage & Retention below

On the Site (betcaddiegolf.com):

• If you submit your email address to our launch-notification signup form, that email address is collected and processed by Mailchimp (operated by Intuit Inc.) solely to notify you when the App is available and to send related launch updates. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link included in any email we send
• If you email us at admin@betcaddiegolf.com, we will receive your email address and the contents of your message. We retain this correspondence only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and maintain reasonable support records

Data Storage & Retention

All data entered into BetCaddie — including player names, scores, game stakes, and match results — is stored on your device using the standard local storage provided by the iOS operating system.

• Local data persists only as long as the App is installed on your device
• Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all local data from your device
• If you use the Share / Match Code feature, the player names and scores you entered are transmitted over the internet and stored by our cloud infrastructure provider for up to 30 days so others in your group can follow the round and reference results. After 30 days, this data is automatically deleted and is no longer accessible
• Shared round data does not include email addresses, phone numbers, device identifiers, location, or payment information. It does include the player names and scores you typed into the App — so if you enter real first or last names, those names are transmitted and stored for the 30-day retention window
• Launch-notification email addresses submitted on the Site are stored by Mailchimp until you unsubscribe or we delete our mailing list

Data Deletion & User Control

You are in full control of your data at all times:

• Delete match data: You can clear individual matches from within the App
• Delete all local data: Uninstalling the App removes all BetCaddie data from your device completely
• Revoke permissions: You can manage any App permissions at any time through your device's system Settings
• Delete shared round data early: Shared round data is automatically deleted after 30 days. If you want shared round data associated with a specific Match Code deleted sooner, email admin@betcaddiegolf.com with the Match Code and we will delete it promptly
• Unsubscribe from launch emails: Every email we send from the Site signup list includes an unsubscribe link. You may also email admin@betcaddiegolf.com to request removal

Analytics & Crash Reporting

We may receive limited, anonymous, non-identifiable analytics through the following platform-provided frameworks:

• Apple App Store Connect Analytics (iOS): Provides aggregated data such as app download counts, crash rates, and session counts. This data is anonymous and cannot be used by us to identify individual users. Apple's data practices are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

We do not integrate third-party analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar services) into the App. The Google AdMob SDK is present solely for ad delivery to non-subscribers and is not used by us for analytics purposes.

Advertising

For subscribers, BetCaddie contains no advertisements of any kind and no advertising networks or SDKs are active.

For non-subscribers using the Follow Round feature, ads are served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain device and usage information — including your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS), IP address, and general interaction data — to deliver and measure ads. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use Google services. You can manage your ad personalization preferences through your device settings or at Google Ad Settings. These ads can be removed entirely with a BetCaddie subscription.

Third-Party Sharing & Service Providers

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise disclose personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We use the following service providers to operate specific features of the App and Site:

• Cloud infrastructure provider: We use a third-party cloud hosting provider to temporarily store shared round data (player names and scores) for the Match Code / Follow Round feature, for up to 30 days. Our provider processes data under a standard data-processing agreement and is not permitted to use shared round data for its own purposes.
• Google AdMob: For non-subscribers using the Follow Round feature, Google AdMob collects device-level information (advertising identifier, IP address, and ad interaction data) to deliver and measure ads, as described in the Advertising section above. We do not provide Google with player names, scores, stakes, or game-specific data.
• Apple: Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store's in-app purchase system. We do not receive or store your payment card information. Apple provides us only with the information necessary to recognize your subscription status (such as a transaction receipt). Apple's handling of your information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Mailchimp (Intuit): Email addresses submitted on the Site's launch-notification signup form are processed by Mailchimp to send launch and related product updates. Mailchimp's handling of your information is governed by Intuit's Global Privacy Statement.

Shared round data transmitted via Match Code is used solely to enable the Follow Round feature for your group and is automatically deleted after 30 days.

Children's Privacy (COPPA)

BetCaddie is not directed at children. Our Terms of Use require all Users of the App to be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in their jurisdiction, if higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information through the App or Site, please contact us at admin@betcaddiegolf.com and we will delete it promptly.

International Users & Applicable Laws

BetCaddie may be downloaded and used internationally. The personal information we process is limited to what is described in this Privacy Policy (shared round data, launch-notification emails, and AdMob device data for non-subscribers using Follow Round). We acknowledge applicable privacy frameworks including:

• GDPR (EU/EEA): The limited personal data we process (player names transmitted via Match Code and email addresses submitted on the Site) is processed on the basis of your consent or to provide a feature you requested. For non-subscribers using Follow Round, Google AdMob may process data subject to Google's own GDPR compliance measures, including consent mechanisms for ad personalization. Users in the EU/EEA will be presented with a consent prompt before personalized ads are shown.
• CCPA (California, USA): We do not sell personal information. For non-subscribers, Google AdMob may collect device identifiers for ad delivery as described above. California residents may opt out of personalized advertising through their device settings or Google Ad Settings, and may contact us at admin@betcaddiegolf.com to exercise applicable rights regarding their personal information.
• COPPA (USA): The App is not directed at children under 13, and our Terms of Use require Users to be 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Google AdMob is configured to comply with COPPA requirements.

We are committed to complying with all applicable privacy laws in the jurisdictions where the App and Site are available.

Security

We take reasonable steps to safeguard the information described in this Privacy Policy. Local App data is stored within the App's sandboxed storage, isolated from other apps per iOS platform security standards. Shared round data transmitted via the Match Code feature is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), stored by our cloud provider, and automatically deleted after 30 days. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the App's features, or applicable laws. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. The current policy is always available at betcaddiegolf.com/privacy. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
